Fun times & boredom

This week we had some fun times.....and some boring times. We attended Toddler Town twice and Eli had his first carousel ride! Eli had a slow week as far as any new words; either that or mommy just wasn't paying attention :) He started to say "aw gone" last week and "how you?" for "how are you?" this week. He continues to love practicing his letters, numbers, shapes, and words. He also started doing a new funny thing this week: picking his and our noses! A new skill he started doing a couple of weeks ago is unzipping his coat and taking it off by himself. He also started doing a not so fun oldie these last couple of weeks: biting. The biting is from his teething but it hurts nonetheless. Hopefully these teeth will grow in quickly!!

We started attending Toddler Town a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it! It's held at the community center and only costs $1, so it is extremely budget friendly :) It is open M, W & F so we can pretty well choose to go when it is best for us. We usually meet up with a couple breastfeeding buddies and this week we met up with Cheryl & Callie (& daddy came, too!). We took a lot of pictures so it was hard to decide which ones to post!

This is Eli's favorite as he goes straight to it each time:

I asked Eli to give Callie, his girlfriend, a hug and kiss and instead he kissed Callie's mom. I told him that really wasn't the best move to win Callie's heart :)

Here's a picture of Eli's lady, Callie:

Going down the slide is fun! We hope to get a similar outdoor play set at a consignment sale coming up in March. As I said last post, Eli will definitely want to spend a lot of time outdoors this spring and summer!!

Eli practicing his cooking skills:

See saws are fun....especially when the weight is evenly distributed:

This picture just asks for everyone to put their hand over their heart and say the pledge of allegiance....go ahead, you can do it:

There's an area where there is a bunch of push and riding toys. Here's Eli & another little boy stopping to chat:

Eli also enjoys the ball pit....and the older boys:

Practicing block stacking....with some frustration thrown in:

On Saturday, it was pretty cold outside. We were a little bored at home, so we decided to head to the mall and have Eli ride the carousel for the first time. He did okay, but spent most of the time studying all the details on the carousel itself.

They also have an indoor play area with cushioned climbing toys and riding toys. Eli immediately always sees the train and has to sit in it. We aren't brave enough yet to let him run around the climbing toys. There are so many kids there on the weekends many of which are just running around like crazy people. Eli thinks this is hilarious, but he is bound to be plowed over. We'll have to try to go during the week when it is less busy:)

After dinner Eli gets a bath. Daddy thought it would be funny to have Eli walk around with his shirt half off. You can tell by his Buddha belly that he just ate:

And I know you all have seen this picture before but it never gets old for me. Every time I do this to Eli he tries to get the letters off but can't reach them.....cracks me up every time:

Eli had some cooky hair after a nursing session that was picture worthy:

Daddy bought Eli a Swiffer duster to help us out with dusting. He seemed to enjoy it until daddy got out the big duster and then he wanted that one instead.....the "smaller kid version" of things never fools him....he wants the real deal!!

We got a little bored today and decided to see if we could stack Eli's automobiles:

We also sang nursery rhymes and played tickle games due to boredom:

We also practice our stomping and marching when we are bored:

This week, Eli turns the big 18 MONTHS!! He has his well check on Friday and his cranialsacral appointment on Thursday. We hope to attend Toddler Town and Music with Mar, too. Hopefully the weather will do what is projected and be in the 50's so we can have some outside time! Hope you all have a great week!

What a great post! So many pictures! Gave me ideas - we've been a little bored, too. Maybe we'll get to try Toddler Town this week - it's within walking distance for us! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

We finally tried Toddler Town out and Aidan had fun, though he's still a little bit like a deer in the headlights when there's a room that big to explore. He started getting into if after half an hour or so. :)

And Amy, you totally *should* do wedding planning/even coordination for a living!! Why not!! I have a friend who is doing it and having a *blast* Her site is: http://www.everybridesbestfriend.com/

Love the new background! Very cute! We've been missing you guys so we need to get down there soon!
Cute to see him laugh at the "big" boys.
