19 weeks today!

Hello all....today is 19 weeks! Don't really feel like much has changed since 18 weeks, besides continuing to grow and the stupid hip pain when I sleep. The "snoogle" is helping and I love sleeping with it, but is hasn't gone away. My friends tell me it probably won't and I can look forward to even more aches and pains as I progress....joy! All for our little boy, though, which will be all worth it!

We bought our crib and dresser today at Nebraska Furniture Mart. We decided to get the convertible crib and found one we liked for a good price:

Here is the matching dresser/changing combo:

We were able to get the dresser today but the crib is on order. Now we need to find bedding to help us make a final decision on the paint color, move furniture out, paint, and organize! Here are a few bedding options we are considering.....

I like this one for the colors and that it is neutral without a theme:

This one is cute for the colors and it is a sun, moon, stars theme:

This one for the colors for sure:

Eric and I saw this and other similar bedding at 3 stores today and Eric really liked it. I'm not a huge theme person but the jungle theme is really cute and has great colors:

So, what do you think???

Here is what babycenter has to say about 19 weeks:

"How your baby's growing: Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.

How your life's changing: You're just a week shy of the halfway mark. You may notice some achiness in your lower abdomen (perhaps extending to your groin) or even a quick, sharp, stabbing pain on one or both sides, especially when you change position or at the end of an active day. This is round ligament pain, and it's caused by the stretching of the muscles and ligaments that support your growing uterus. It's nothing to be alarmed about, but if the pain continues even when you're resting or becomes persistent and severe, call your practitioner.

You may also have noticed some skin changes lately. Are the palms of your hands red? Nothing to worry about — it's from increased estrogen. Patches of darkened skin are also common during pregnancy. When they show up around your upper lip, upper cheeks and forehead, they're called chloasma, or the "mask of pregnancy." You may see these splotches on your arms or other areas that have been exposed to the sun. Your nipples, freckles, scars, underarms, inner thighs, and vulva may also darken during pregnancy. That darkened line running from your belly button to your pubic bone is called the linea nigra, or "dark line." All of this darkening is due to a temporary increase in melanin, the substance that colors your hair, skin, and eyes. For most women, these darkened spots will fade shortly after delivery. In the meantime, protect yourself from the sun, which intensifies the pigment changes. Cover up, wear a brimmed hat, and use sunscreen when you're outdoors. And if you're self-conscious about your "mask," a little concealing makeup can work wonders."

I don't have the "dark line" or the "mask of pregnancy". I have occasional pain, which could be the round ligament pain...who knows. I did buy 3 more maternity pants. I shouldn't have to buy any more pants (have 5 now), probably just a couple pair of capris, couple shorts, and a few summer shirts. I'll wait to buy those, though, until I actually need them and it is warm enough. I will wear Emily's dress tops for work...thanks again, Em!

Well, next week will be half way through...amazing! I DEFINETELY must eat every 2-3 hours or the rest of my day is blown to nothing. I accidentally didn't eat for 4 hours on Friday and even though I ate the rest of the day about every 1-2 hours, my energy level was shot and I was just drained. So, I always have a granola bar and a piece of fruit with me, at my office, and in my car!!

I've been telling my kids on my case load at work this month and they are funny how they react to the news. They just smile and say something like "oh..." but aren't quite sure what else to say....teenagers.... :)

Thanks for reading and I'll post pics of the nursery as we start to put it together....

I liked the last one you posted best - the jungle theme w/ cream and green as its main colors (hmmm, sounds like my wedding colors!!) I do think any of the jungle themes are cute though!

Eric & I like the 2nd from the bottom jungle theme. The colors are great and it looks really nice with brown walls. We wouldn't use that dark of brown, more tan. We'll "sleep on it" for a little while and then probably go purchase it. It is at Bed Bath and Beyond and JC Penney and I have gift cards from Bed Bath so that would work out great. We'll see!!

I like the last bedding picture also. We just found out that we're having a girl. I had a dream last week that you were having a girl but I guess I was wrong. :) If you're looking for maternity clothes you might check out the Motherhood store at Legends. It's a discount store and they get clothes from several maternity stores.
