Our little lady turned 1 today! Wow, time does fly. Here is a link to her birth day post a year ago today.
Anna was born at 12:26am and her labor was pretty quick. Having an epidural for a total of 45 minutes compared to Eli's almost 12 hours is pretty different! I was so concerned about nursing since Eli & I didn't start off too well, but she did so awesome IMMEDIATELY and I was so relieved. I slept with her in my arms majority of each night I was in the hospital and felt such a sense of calm & relaxation this 2nd time around.
Anna from the beginning was so calm. She slept a lot and nursed well so things were great. She remains a fairly content little lady but definitely began to let you know her opinions as the months went on.
Anna gets excited about her brother and finds the things he does pretty funny. Of course she will also have no issue telling him "leave me alone!" when she has had enough! He adores her, as much as a 3 year old boy can, and I know all of our reminders to treat her like a person and not a doll will sink in. Eli will be an excellent protector of Miss Anna and feel great comfort in that.
Anna also has allowed us to experience the joy of gradual development. She did everything gradually such as sitting up, rocking to all fours, crawling, cruising, walking, etc. Her brother did his OWN timeline and would refuse to do anything until just one day when HE decided he was ready. Of course both ways are just fine, but it has been nice to see her progression instead of crawling one day and walking the next, like her brother did (not literally, but it seemed like it!).
Anna's red hair continues to look beautiful and cause reactions everywhere we go. We can't leave the house without at least one person commenting on how pretty her hair is. Her hair has grown nicely and she can wear small clips....sometimes.
At a year, Anna is a walker! This last week she has preferred walking to crawling and is quite the dare devil. A few head bonks prove this! She is so proud of herself and laughs and giggles the whole time she is walking. SO adorable.
