Our little lady is almost to the 4 month mark and she continues to be the most awesome baby EVER!! :) I'm not biased or anything....
She is content most of her awake time and shares her smiles and laughs often. She probably weighs around 15 lbs. and a few ounces now since she was 14lbs. 14 oz. a week ago. I just washed all of her fall & winter clothes and her closet will be full again soon (when I hang them up, that is). She wears a few 3 month onesies, but primarily 6-9 month clothes. Anna, along with the rest of our house this week, has been snotty, but thus far has had no other symptoms, which is great....breastmilk rocks!!! :) I had some 24 hour bug yesterday with a fever, sore throat, and achiness and Eli had it earlier this week. His cough is still lingering along with his runny nose, but we hope it will be cleared up in time for preschool this week.
Anna seems to be in the cat nap mode these days, just like her brother. This somewhat saddens me since she was doing so awesome taking her one long afternoon nap. But, those days seem to be gone. She seems to wake up right on the 30 minute mark and gets tired again right at the 2 hour mark. She continues to be easy to get to sleep, though, which is great. She doesn't require mama like her brother did! In addition, she has been going to be earlier, anywhere from 7:30-8:30pm. But, much to my dismay, she also has been waking earlier. It is hit or miss but sometimes she will be up and ready to go at 7:30am and other times she wakes, and then returns to sleep for another hour or so.
Anna also decided to roll from her back to tummy today for the first time....twice! She has been able to roll almost all the way but her arm continually got in the way. She figured it out today, though, and didn't seem quite sure what to do then! You can hear the determination in her voice in this video:

Anna can also use her bumbo chair, but just really wants to lean forward in it, even though she can sit up straight:
As for Eli, he sadly had to miss his 2nd day of preschool last week due to his cough. He had a fever for just 12 hours but his cough is still lingering on. Despite this, we started our Parent and Tot yoga class this Saturday and had fun! Eli wasn't sure about it at first, but got into it as the class went on. It is a small class and the instructor is really great with kids. She uses stuffed animals to demonstrate and represent the main poses (dog, seal, lion, cat, & monkey), played games like picking up soft balls with our toes, and taught relaxation by laying down and looking up at the "rainbow" in the sky. I even feel sore after this first session so that's great! Looking forward to next week!
In addition, our teen age neighbor girl, Delise, has been coming over 2 afternoons a week for a couple hours to play with Eli so my mom can focus on Anna. Eli loves being engaged by pretty much anyone who will play with him, so this is working out great. Delise loves art, so she has been doing many art activities with him as seen below:
She also takes him outside, plays with his racetrack in the basement, and just overall is his little buddy. One of the projects they did was a spider. As you can see, Eli's drawings are getting more & more detailed. See the spider's eyes & mouth?:
In closing, we had an entire night of severe thunderstorms last night ALL of which produced some form of hail. They started in the early evening and literally went on all night. The first round of storms produced the largest hail with golfball and even some BASEBALL sized hail and was quite interesting, yet scary to watch. Eric ran out and got one as you can see below:
Oh midwest storms....gotta love em'!! Enjoy your week!
